The Bracco Italiano is first and foremost a versatile gundog, and that absolutely cannot be forgotten in a breeding program.  My effort is to combine natural working ability and proper conformation in my dogs.  It’s important that my dogs not only have hunting ability, but also have the classical Bracco hunting style.  They hunt close at with an extended trot, a natural retrieve, and a stylish point.  I’m involved with the AKC and NAVHDA for fieldwork.

The Bracco became eligible to run in AKC Hunt Tests in January 2010, and Delaney competed in her first test that April.  In spring 2011, we started Anna in Junior Hunter and she immediately earned the first half of her JH title, just like her mother did the year before.  We are members of a local hunt club and try take the dogs there for fun (and maybe some training!) at least once a week.

Check out Aulico’s latest field results & photos below!

  2. -March 20, 2011: Delaney completed her AKC Junior Hunter title!  She competed in her 3rd and 4th hunt tests, earning the last legs of her JH with top scores. She hunted under American and British judges (a big thanks to Paul Hermes, Patty Hart, Irmgard Alcock and Stephanie Klienman).  Delaney has qualified in every test that she’s run in.

  1. -April 10-11, 2010: Delaney competed in her first AKC Hunt Test at the Junior Hunter level.  She qualified both days, earning the first two legs on her JH title.  Halfway there!  She scored perfect 10s from both judges in the “hunting” category on the second day, and scored 9s in “bird finding ability” and “pointing.”
